Raemoir House Hotel enjoys a quiet and tranquil position to the North of Banchory at the foot of the Hill of Fare. The magnificent granite Georgian mansion has stood since 1817 but was first used as a hotel in 1943. It has long since enjoyed an enviable reputation for fine food and friendly service, achieving a catalogue of awards including 2AA rosettes for its restaurant but has become less conspicuous over the last few years. In September 2010 it was taken over by Neil and Julie Rae of The Milton Restaurant, Banchory who have already started a refurbishment programme to bring the grand Old Dame of Deeside hotel's back to life. The hotel will remain open throughout to serve Morning Coffees, Lunch, Afternoon Teas (with champagne if you are feeling particularly indulgent), Suppers and Dinner to non residents who are always welcome.
In the quiet seclusion of 11 acres of parkland and with 20 bedrooms divided between the main house and the smaller and older Ha’ Hoose annex, the hotel offers a true country house hotel experience. All the rooms are individually decorated with many featuring antique furniture whilst also offering today’s traveller the latest digital TVs and free wi fi access.
Whilst many private parties are regularly held at Raemoir, the hotel is widely favoured by companies wishing to hold informal meetings and training sessions and wth five rooms available on the ground floor there are opportunities of all kinds.
The hotel website is well maintained and an excellent source of further information.
