Second Pipe Band competition a skirlin' success

Thursday 19 May 2016

Last Sunday saw Banchory’s second Pipe Band Championship in recent years, with more than a thousand people attending on a day of truly British weather. More than 20 bands of four different grades competed through sunshine and showers, culminating in a stirring massed bands performance in some final rays of sun.

The Banchory Business Association and RSPBA North of Scotland branch would like to thank the following local people and organisations, without which the day would not have been such a resounding success: Bruce McCombie, Logan Sangster, Reprografix, Roy Cowie, Sangster & Lees, MFGF Events, Mitchells Hardware, all traders who supported the event, Aberdeenshire Council, all our lovely volunteers, BDI, Community Payback, Banchory Boys Football, Banchory Pipe Band and our chieftain Alexander Burnett and family.
