The Museum is currently running a series of quarterly exhibitions entitled 'LOOKING AT........' which will look at the history of various aspects of life on Deeside.

The first of the series is 'Looking at Kincardine O'Neil' which is a partnership between the Museum and George Parkinson.  This exhibition will run to the end of November 2007.

The series then continues with:-

Looking at Festive Customs
which will cover the history of Food, Drink and Entertainments at Christmas and Hogmanay. Recipes and song sheets may be available.  (
From December  2007 to February 2008)

Looking at Language and Dialects This exhibition will trace the origins of the languages that have been spoken in settlements along the Dee and will of course have a special emphasis on the Doric (which may come from the Greek word meaning rustic) hopefully with readings by local Doric speakers. (From March 2008 to May 2008)

Looking at Toys and Games which will range from Medieval to modern times. It will include games that were played in the school yard as well as traditional board games and toys.  A chance to make a fortune teller, discover the complexity of Cat's Cradle, take part in the paper airplane contest. This exhibit will run from June 2008 to September 2008 and will be in place for St Ternan's Fair which will be on 14th June 2008.
