Film screening at Woodend Barn.
Ken Loach returns to Ireland, albeit with a different
take on the troubles that escalated almost a century
ago. The drama takes place in 1921 as political activist
James Gralton (Barry Ward) decides to challenge the
restrictiveness of the Catholic Church by running a
dancehall in his local town. Also using the venue as a
platform for his own views on the state of the country,
he is branded a Communist by the church and soon
finds himself under threat.
