Using studio looms, this introductory session of 8 classes on Wednesday afternoons looks at different yarns, fibres and design possibilities. The classes are suitable for beginners and for weavers wishing to refresh their skills. Students will weave samples on looms which have been prepared ready for weaving. (If you prefer to bring your own loom, please get in touch.) During the session we will look at each stage of preparing a loom for weaving. We journey into many aspects of weaving, using inspiring materials and yarns in stock in the studio and looking at different textures and simple weaves. The classes encourage exploration, and the last three weeks may be used for a small project.
